Maladie de Charcot – Le monde du rugby se mobilise

Jean-Pierre Matheu, a lancé une association pour lutter contre la maladie de Charcot. Le monde du rugby se mobilise et s’associe au combat de l’ancien arbitre du Top 14.

Fin mars la Ligue Nationale de Rugby organisait un week-end de sensibilisation pour faire connaitre la maladie. L’association de Jean-Pierre Matheu était également présentée sur tous les terrains de Top 14 et de Pro D2. Cette maladie incurable a déjà emporté des joueurs de rugby comme le célèbre demi de mêlée sud-africain Joost Van der Westhuizen. L’association, Sclérose Latérale Amyotrophique Fondation Recherche plus connue sous le nom de SLAFR a pour but de soutenir des personnes issues du milieu du sport. La SLAFR récolte des dons afin de financer les recherches sur cette maladie dont on ne connait pas encore l’origine.

Les réseaux sociaux comme vecteur de communication

Si le week-end de sensibilisation a permis une grande exposition, les réseaux sociaux se sont également mis au diapason. Depuis quelques jours le hashtag #un8pourWill prend de l’ampleur sur le réseau social Instagram. En effet, les coéquipiers d’un joueur atteint de la maladie de Charcot ont décidé de réunir des photos pour lui. William, n°8 de l’équipe loisir du Bouscat est une vraie force de la nature. Leader de combat, « Will » a reçu le soutien d’anonymes mais aussi de personnalités du rugby comme Guilhem Guirado, Mathieu Bastareaud, Morgan Parra, Scott Spedding… Le but est de se prendre en photo en formant le numéro huit avec ses mains, ses doigts ou des objets à disposition.

Le club du Bouscat organise un tournoi pour William et récolter des fonds pour l’association, le 2 juin prochain en journée.
