Les joueurs du Racing 92, survolés par un drone, symbolisent le numéro « 8 » au Plessis-Robinson au soutien d’un troisième-ligne centre touché par la maladie de Charcot (D.R.).

Les joueurs du Racing 92, demi-finalistes du Top 14, se sont solidarisés autour d’un troisième-ligne centre bordelais, William Ovide-Etienne, touché par la maladie de Charcot. D’autres, comme l’acteur Jean Dujardin, le handballeur Nikola Karabatic, les internationaux Fulgence Ouedrago, Vincent Clerc, Thierry Dusautoir, Rabah Slimani ou Uini Atonio, ont relayé l’initiative.

Samedi au stade Jean-Jaurès du Bouscat se déroulera un tournoi de rugby à toucher mixte, avec des équipes de cinq joueurs et joueuses, de 10h à 18h. Plus de vingt équipes sont en lice et la recette de cette manifestation, avec une tombola qui permettra de gagner entre autre lots de maillots du Racing 92, du RC Toulon et de l’UBB, dédicacés par les joueurs, sera reversée à la fondation SLAFR, présidée par l’ancien arbitre de Top 14, Jean-Paul Matheu, qui lutte contre la maladie de Charcot.

Cet élan de solidarité imaginé par l’équipe de Rugby Loisir du Bouscat, a fédéré l’acteur Jean Dujardin, ancien joueur de rugby, le handballeur Nikola Karabatic, mais aussi les internationaux Vincent Clerc, Thierry Dusautoir ainsi que Uino Atonio et Rabah Slimani avant de partir pour la Nouvelle-Zélande en tournée avec le XV de France, sans oublier le flanker international Fulgence Ouedraogo, qui disputera samedi soir (21h00) la finale du Top 14, laquelle sera retransmise sur grand écran au club-house du Bouscat.

a noter que l’effectif du Racing 92, avant sa demi-finale à Lyon contre Montpellier, avait utilisé le drone du club (qui sert d’ordinaire à filmer l’entraînement) pour photographier un « huit » géant au milieu duquel se tient le capitaine Yannick Nyanga, à l’initiative de l’ancien bordelais Maxime Machenaud. Hommage au troisième-ligne centre du Bouscat, William Ovide-Etienne, 48 ans, soudainement touché, il y a deux ans, par la maladie de Charcot contre laquelle il combat.
